Commission wishes to end EU moratorium on genetically modified crops

EU Health and Consumers Commissioner David Byrne has called for an end to the European moratorium on genetically modified (GM) crops. Commissioner Byrne has stated that it was time for the EU to give people the choice whether they wanted to consume GM food or not.
