EU in favour of French plan for Palestinian state

EU Foreign Ministers gave broad support to France's proposal for an early recognition of a Palestinian state, but failed to adopt a joint plan for a new Middle East initiative at a weekend meeting in Caceres, Spain. A new political initiative to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is to be discussed by the Foreign Ministers again at the General Affairs Council on 18 February in Brussels.
