A political agreement was reached on the Statute of the Members of the European Parliament, and especially its financial aspects, at the General Affairs Council in Luxembourg, on 29-30 October. The reform of payment and taxation rules for MEPS aims to bridge large wage differences between MEPs of different nationalities and make the financing of the European Parliament more transparent.
