Candidate countries become full members of European Environment Agency
Bulgaria, Cyprus, Latvia, Malta, Slovenia and Slovakia became members of the European Environment Agency (EEA) on 1 August. This is the first time that an EU agency welcomes candidate countries as its full members. These accessions bring the agency's membership to 24.
