EU adopts new strategy for Balkans
The European Commission adopted on 22 October a new strategy to stimulate co-operation between countries in the Balkan region. The EU will spend 197 million euro under the so-called CARDS programme (Community Assistance for Reconstruction, Democratisation and Stabilisation) to help the Balkan countries solve regional problems.
