EU agrees to Fiat/EdF takeover of Montedison
The European Commission's competition authority gave the go-ahead to the Fiat-led consortium Italenergia for the takeover of Italy's biggest energy conglomerate Montedison. The green light for the takeover by a newly formed consortium of Italian carmaker Fiat and state-owned Electricité de France ends a long battle for control of Italy's second-largest power company.
