EU and candidates adopt measures to combat human trafficking

The ministers of the interior of the 15 EU Member States and 13 candidate countries adopted measures to combat human trafficking at a meeting in Brussels on 28 September. Human trafficking into the EU for sexual exploitation and illicit labour is on the rise, according to Europol, and the candidates are either countries of origin or transit.
