EU keeps moratorium on GMO crops

The EU ministers for environment have supported the Commission's proposals on traceability and labelling of GMOs but insisted on keeping the moratorium on genetically modified crops. At the EU Council meeting in Luxembourg on 29 October, the ministers decided that the moratorium can only be lifted when new traceability and labelling rules are in place.
