New report calls for consistent EU criteria to monitor CEECs

The EU Accession Monitoring Program, set up by the Open Society Institute, published its reports on Minority Protection and Judicial Independence in the ten Central and Eastern European candidate countries. The reports, which were presented to the European Commission on 10 October, provide a detailed and critical insight into the situation, and call for a number of measures to deal with the problems.
