Cox calls for participation of candidate countries in EP debates
The President of the European Parliament, Pat Cox, proposed to invite members of the parliaments of the candidate countries to participate in the European Parliament's debates on enlargement. Mr Cox proposed that the candidate countries be granted observer status once they have signed accession treaties with the EU.
