Directive on vitamins and food supplements adopted at Council

EU ministers reached a political agreement by a qualified majority on the adoption of a proposed directive on food supplements, at the Council on Internal Market, Consumers and Tourism on 27 September. The Directive seeks to harmonise laws concerning food supplements throughout the EU and to reinforce consumer safety by setting specifications concerning vitamins and minerals used as ingredients in food supplements.
