Turkey aims to join EU in 2007

Turkey's Deputy Prime Minister Mesut Yilmaz declared that 2007 is a more realistic date to join the EU than the country's previous target date of 2004. Mr Yilmaz, responsible for EU affairs, said that joining the EU together with Romania and Bulgaria was "a rational target" for Turkey.
