Analyse : Développer la recherche dans l'enseignement supérieur

Cette étude se penche sur les procédures et les stratégies suivies par les institutions d’enseignement supérieur dans les pays membres ou non de l’OCDE qui développent des équipements de recherche.

The OECD study entitled University research management developing research in new institutions states that in order to respond to today’s society’s increasing demand for higher education, the agenda of most Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) has moved on from a desire to simply increase the general education level of the population and the output of scientific research. There is now a greater emphasis on harnessing higher education and research to specific economic and social objectives. 

The study suggests that it will be difficult for governments to reach their targets without fully embracing new HEIs within a nationally balanced socio-economic plan, as the traditional university sector alone is neither capable nor appropriate. Success, however, depends on change within institutions and government. 

The study goes to offer policy recommendations for institutions and government.
