ECB cuts euro interest rate
The European Central Bank's (ECB) governing council decided on Thursday, 30 August, to cut the euro interest rate by a quarter of a point to 4.25 percent. The euro rose to a one week high versus the dollar of $0.9183 after the interest rate cut. The euro rose from $0.9089 to $0.9180 in morning Wall Street trade.
