EP welcomes Turkey's constitutional reform

A report on Turkey's application for EU membership, proposed by the European Parliament foreign affairs committee on 10 October, welcomes the constitutional reforms adopted by the Turkish parliament. The report encourages Turkey to pursue the reform effort "in order to provide Turkey with a modern constitution guaranteeing a fully functioning democratic state, good governance and respect for individual and collective rights and freedoms".
