Der Verband der Elektrizitätswirtschaft (VDEW) berichtet über die bis zu 60 % angestiegenen Strompreise in Europa.

Electricity wholesale prices increased by up to 60% in Europe with Spain having a 59.6%, Germany 50% and the Scandinavian countries a 38.4% increase, according to the VDEW. 

Eberhard MellerCEO of VDEW comments: „The electricity stock exchange reflects the expectations of the market participants which entail that the global growing demand of energy supply will increase prices in Europe.“ 

The VDEW also identifies the development of a closer linkage of networks in the electricity markets in Europe due to a virtually parallel development.
